Working with RABQSA , I developed the first  Auditor qualification for the waste sector and was one of the first waste auditors in Australia to receive ‘Lead Auditor” status. My Company, Waste Audit, was the first company to conduct landfill audits (Zero Waste SA 2000) and as a consequence developed the protocols that are still used today. Within the Waste industry I have a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment. As a Director of Sustainable Learning Australia, I developed the learning materials for certificate III and IV in Waste Management as part of the National Competencies developed for the waste industry.

I have worked with the Green Building Council providing input and feedback on many of the waste protocols and NABERS to develop the original NABERS Waste for Commercial premises. I am currently an invited participant on the City of Sydney “Better Building Partnership” Group and have assisted in the development of the recently released protocol for more transparent, accurate waste reporting. In terms of specific commercial waste auditing experience, I have worked extensively with commercial buildings throughout Australia with many of the leading property management companies including: Lend Lease, AMP, GPT, Mirvac, JLL, ISPT, Knight Frank and Charter Hall.

Simon's work has a practical basis, developed through early labouring, working as an exploration field assistant and more recently as a contaminated land consultant.  He has developed excellent written and verbal communication abilities employed with, but not limited to, subcontractors, clients, legislative bodies, co-workers, managerial hierarchy and reporting.

Simon has technical writing skills and an ability to accurately interpret and report on large sets of data, as is evident through my  first class thesis (2011) and subsequent publication in 2014. He has been trained at a foundation level in a variety of software programs including QGIS, Surfer, gINT, Blastware, WinLoG ESDAT and Photolink.
